Very Rare Antique Francesco Bartolozzi Stipple Engraving* Published 1780-91 Privately Printed in London? for “Gemmarum antiquarum delectus; ex præstantioribus desumptus, quæ in dactyliothecis ducis Marlburiensis conservantur. Choix de pierres antiques gravees du cabinet du duc de Marlborough” (The Gems of the Duke of Marlborough) 1st Edition by the 4th Duke of Marlborough. Limited Edition of 100.

All plates drawn by Giovanni Cipriani, and engraved by Bartolozzi. The margins have been reduced dramatically (From Folio)

**First edition by George Spencer, 4th Duke of Marlborough, privately printed in 1780-91 and limited to 100 copies. The second edition was re-issued by George Spencer-Churchill, 6th Duke of Marlborough and great grandfather to Sir Winston Churchill. The Gems drawn by Cipriani were later sold to fund the upkeep of Blenheim Palace.
